| About the Hi-Lakers
The Washington State Hi-Lakers is a membership organization that brings together people who enjoy high lake fishing and hiking. Regular Club activities include monthly meetings and bi-monthly newsletter, and a winter social.
The Hi-Lakers are dedicated to promoting quality high lake fishing, and to preserving the environment and experience of mountain lakes and the surrounding country. Besides collegial events, the Club undertakes various efforts. Primary among these are conducting high lake surveys and submitting the results to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Since the high lake fishery is spread over thousands of acres, far too vast for state biologists to visit regularly, these surveys provide key information for managing the high lake resource. To the best of our knowledge, there are few if any comparable high lake survey efforts in other states. The Club also supports legislation favorable to the club objectives, gives input regarding relevant policies, and from time to time undertakes projects. Please see the slideshow for an in-depth introduction to high lake fishing, and the science page for answers to frequently asked questions.
