Don Wicklund set up by ‘lockjaw lake’ with his Hennessy hammock on July 8th, 2017. Look ma, no poles or stakes.

I have used the Hennessy hammock for over 20 years creating awesome memories. As I began exploring lightweight backpacking, this hammock became my go-to sleep system. Sure, there can be a learning curve, so camp in your backyard first. Now that I’ve got it figured out, just the thought of getting in my hammock for a good night’s sleep makes me feel all warm and cozy. I also like it because I no longer have to search for a flat campsite, greatly expanding my camping horizons.

Pro Tip: You and your buddy Kent should never tie off to the same spindly mountain tree in a V formation. You see, every time one of you makes an adjustment the movements travel up the line, through the tree, and down the line abruptly notifying your buddy that you’ve moved. Additionally, by morning that spindly tree has bent to such a degree that both of you will be scraping the ground!

I really appreciate Hennessy Hammocks, which has donated auction items the last several years at our Winter Social. BTW, the Winter Social is a great place to swap stories about using hammocks.
